Although she may argue that she is the main character, the series is named after Carl. A show-stealing secondary character is not new. And there have been other characters who become more popular than the main. Why does this happen? Do authors know that a secondary character may become more when they are writing the story?

Hugo nominations are down. Circulation numbers are a fraction of what they once were. What's happening to the print magazines and are they really dying this time? What can be done to save traditional print magazines?
